I had the beef shank and a friend the trout sausage, Both used unusual ingredience but the result was wonderful. It's a treat to eat creative approaches to traditional food, The pineapple mint juice was refreshing and not too sweet. The service was attentive and the staff very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was modern yet inviting.

I was expecting much more from this restaurant... It was recommended to be good buy it was actually awful. We were 12 people and only two people were satisfied with their meals. Dry meats, hart to eat, and in my particular case the most boring salad ever. It said on the menu it had quinoa, palm harts, and a sauce of sour cream with eggplant among other things and well it was just lettuce with tons of capsicum and just a tiny amount of the other ingredients. Terrible. The waiter also forgot someone's meal, so this person had to wait and eat after everyone had finished.Really bad experience. I'll never come back.

We ate here as part of a tour and it wasn't a typical tour meal. My husband had the steak which was very flavorful and incredibly tender. I had the stuffed chicken which was a traditional Bogota dish. It was delicious. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful Columbian meal.

I was heading with my family to other restaurant nearby when my six years old son look at the La Principal door and said he wanted to go there. My wife struggled a little bit with him telling that we did not know that restaurant and we wanted arabian food. He remained firm and finally we followed him. What a very nice surprise, deco is minimal but comfortable, service is very good and the most important, the menu is full of surprises. Restaurant is addressed to to chef interpretations of Colombian food, so there are mainly there are traditional dishes with chef nuances or author dishes with Colombian ingredients.Just try the bondiola, squid inked rice and others. Don't forget to try the blackberries tea or the tamarind / coconut juice. You wont regret it.

I have been here twice. The most recent, for dinner with a very beautiful friend. We arrive at 10 pm. We were seated immediately in a table in the back section of the restaurant. The restaurant has an open kitchen and a nice, sober, decoration. As appetizers, we tried the marranitas and the orden de fritos. These two are basically a kind of deep fried canapés, all very typical from different Colombian regions. Although you could eat all these "fritos" in many places, literally from street vendors, the quality of these is really good. They are delicious. Especially the marranitas. Do not order more than three orders, otherwise you will not want to eat anything else. Then we shared the octopus ceviche. It was delicious. We drank natural juices. They have a large selection, all fresh and made of fruits that you rarely see outside Colombia (like the Corozo juice, typical from the Caribbean region). I had a great one made of pineapple and spearmint (I actually had two of the same). The service is great. We were served quite fast for Colombian-restaurants standards, about 5 minutes for the drinks and no more than 15 for the appetizers. Servers are very nice, indeed. Also, there is a map with all the Colombian regions in the hallway that goes to the restroom. Nice. We spend about 30 dollars. We had a great dinner for a reasonable quality/price ratio.

La Principal looks very nice, inside and out, and I was hoping for quite a nice lunch here. I ordered the ribs, which while not terrible, were rather dry, and served on top of some sort of mashed potato which was just awful. Quite disappointing.

Fritos(Fries) was great as a starter. Pollo Sudado was a soso. Aguadepanela con Limon was good. Mary Mojito was worse than normal mojito.

Stayed there last July 21st with a friend. We ate first "longaniza" as starter and then I chose the "Solomillo" changing the rice option (coming from morcilla) for a normal white rice. Although the meat were smooth, it was completely tasteless. They offer wifi but with almost or not signal. Besides this service is good with kind waitress
