A comfortable restaurant with atmosphere and live music and tango dancers. Incredibly cultural. Delicious steaks and excellent service. The live accordion player and roving singer make you feel like you are in Buenos Aires.

My friend and I stumbled on this restaurant on a Friday evening while visiting Medellin. We had a fabulous time and the food was good. The service was fantastic. They allowed us to sit there for 3 hours so that we could watch the show! There were 2 singers and a fabulous dancing couple. We really enjoyed the entertainment. The food wasn't super special but it was yummy. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

My wife and I live in Medellin and are always looking to try new places. We'd heard this place was expensive so when we found a coupon to give us a half priced meal, we jumped at the opportunity to see a live Tango show and have a good meal. We made reservations and told them about the coupon so that there wouldn't be any confusion once we arrived but I guess all that did was tip them off that we wouldn't be full paying customers because once we got there, we were treated like 2nd class citizens. They sat us in the back of the restaurant where we could barely see the stage and then demanded to see our coupon as if we had been lying to them over the phone. The coupon we had gave us the option to select anything from the menu and our choice of one of four wine options but we soon found out that La Rueca had something else in mind.We were brought our wine without even being giving the chance to see a menu or make a selection. It wasn't good wine and I'm guessing it was simply their cheapest and lowest quality selection. Then we were told that we couldn't just order anything off the menu but instead, we had to choose from one of four items, all not coincidentally the lowest priced items on the menu. We protested to our waiter but he simply shrugged his shoulders and said that's what we were allowed to order. The food was unremarkable. Not bad, not great, but definitely not worth the regular prices they were charging had we not had the coupon. Then came the "Tango Show". We had been expecting to see people and pairs dancing around the stage for an hour long (or more) show but instead found out that their version of a show is actually just one or two people dancing to one song every 20 to 30 minutes. The lights would dim, the band would start playing, and a man or a woman would strut out and do a dance. Then he or she would finish, leave the stage, and leave the audience puzzled as to why it was so short and wondering when the next performance would happen. We sat through an excruciatingly long dinner thinking, "this couldn't be it" but sadly, while we waited and waited for something better to happen, that something never did. We would never recommend this restaurant to anyone at their normal prices and if you have a coupon, you might still be disappointed. We definitely were.

At Calle N ° in Medellín, there is a Starbucks. La Rueca restaurant does not exist at that address and just in case you notice that the photo is of a KTM, which by the way closed more than months ago.
