I don't know if food really tastes better in Rio Negro than in Medellin, but based on the Menu del Día for 10,000 pesos at this restaurant, I sure think it does. It's also a nightclub with lots of action and liquor, but I like it for its midday food.

Last week, I enjoyed one of the best cuts of beef at El Potero Estadero-Bar in San Antonio de Pereira. San Antonio is a growing pueblo half a mile outside Rionegro, Antioquia. My wife, a couple of friends and I were house hunting in San Antonio, and stopped at El Potero for a late lunch. The restaurant/bar is situated on the main street of San Antonio a few yards from the town square (or parque principal). The restaurant offers a variety of traditional "paisa" food including favorites such as bandeja paisa, sancocho and an assortment of grilled meat, poultry and fish platters. Fresh fruit juice, soft drinks and domestic beer and liquor are available. The restaurant is decorated in typical paisa motif (rustic, wooden furniture and antique art). In the center of the fonda is a stage and lighting for live entertainment. I noticed that there is a bar in front of the restaurant that sells bottles of rum and aguardiente to accompany the night time entertainment. I would describe the overall atmosphere of the fonda as inviting and fun... and an ideal place for family and friends to gather for a meal or to enjoy a little nightlife. The restaurant is clean and sanitary. The staff at El Potero is friendly and attentive... and quick to help with any questions about the pueblo. I enjoyed chatting with them, and found their information very helpful.I ordered the solomito platter (beef filet) which cost about 28,000 pesos ($12 US). Potatoes and salad accompanied the entrée. The beef filet was outstanding... tender and tasty... and prepared exactly according to my instructions. The meet was so tender it was almost possible to cut it with a fork. The cut was generous and filling. I loved the salad and steak fries as well. My wife and friends ordered traditional poultry and meat platters. I tried a portion of the grilled chicken breast and found it to be exceptional as well.My experience at El Potero was a pleasant one, and I hope to return for another excellent meal very soon. The quality and preparation of the food is top shelf... and the restaurant offers a traditional menu that is varied and inexpensive. Four of us enjoyed an excellent lunch for around 70,000 pesos ($29 US) including drinks and tips. In my humble opinion, this is an excellent value. El Potero Estadero - Bar is highly recommended for anyone visiting San Antonio de Pereira.

Terrible service, total nonconformity, disgusting food, I recommend not attending the place is not worth it. Very expensive dishes and to finish adjusting I leave the place intoxicated, it is not fair with the client that these things happen.

Very bad food, the meat was raw it had blood, the chicken was in bad condition the person who ate it came out intoxicated, the soda on the menu cost and they charged us for each one, we complained and returned the plate, they brought us the same a little more roasted but inside they were still the same, although we complained, they did nothing or offer an apology, then we had to wait minutes for the bill, we paid COP for raw food and in poor condition, apart from this we left intoxicated.

Yesterday friends got intoxicated with paisa trays and a person with pasta, the ground meat smelled bad and when we told them they ignored it, the dish on this site is an average to get intoxicated by bad food state
